Recommendations for Park Users and Observing Social Distancing Minimums

Fort Bend MUD #118 is actively monitoring developments around coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and how it is and may impact District parks. The District is asking residents to adhere to all guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and your local public health officials for the most up-to-date information. To maximize the safety and health of all Fort Bend MUD #118 residents, visitors to District parks should adhere to the following guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  • Follow the CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to heading to parks and trails – wash hands, carry hand sanitizer, do not use parks or trails if you have symptoms, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, etc.
  • Avoid gathering in groups of 10 or more.
  • Residents should avoid utilizing playground equipment, picnic tables and other commonly touched surfaces.
  • Observe at all times the CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of six feet from other people. Practice it and know what it looks like. Keep it as you walk, bike or hike.
  • Warn other park and trail users of your presence and as you pass to allow proper distance, and step off trails and sidewalks to allow others to pass, keeping minimum recommended distances at all times. Signal your presence with your voice, bell or horn.
  • Bring water or drinks — public drinking fountains may be disabled and should not be used, even if operable.

While District Parks remain open, we ask that all residents visiting these public spaces to exercise good hygiene and best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce ways the virus is transmitted.

New Splash Pad is Now Operational

The new Splash Pad behind the swimming pool is now operational for this year. The rules and usage requirements are posted on a sign on the pad. Enjoy this park addition sponsored by your MUD.

Animal Control in the Subdivision

As spring arrives, bringing mild temperatures, the weather is perfect to enjoy the District’s parks, playgrounds, and trails. Often our K9 friends join us for our daily dose of exercise. The District has seen an increase in the number of reports of unrestrained dogs in area parks, and along trails.

Although your dog may be gentle, many people can be frightened by unrestrained dogs. Unrestrained dogs may be overly enthusiastic with small children, the young-at-heart, and other pets in the community which can create a risk for dog bites or other injuries. Unrestrained or free-roaming dogs pose a substantial threat to the public. In addition, unrestrained dogs are at an increased risk of being bitten by wildlife present in the community, increasing the potential for the spread of illness.

Fort Bend County has established regulations requiring the restraint of dogs when outside a dwelling. Enforcement of restraint laws is essential in protecting the public using common areas within the community. As you enjoy the great outdoors with your pet, please be courteous, and help keep our community safe by abiding by dog restraint regulations. The District also encourages you to report all instances of unrestrained dogs.

Park Facility Maintenance

MUD 118 has contracted with a maintenance company to be responsible for the District’s Park Facilities. Mike Stone Associates, Inc. will be responsible for maintaining, managing, repairing and communicating with the homeowner on all the facilities on MUD 118 property.
